Built in 1989, Vatel Nîmes is the Group’s pilot school and its largest campus in Europe. Today, it is home to 500 students, 50% of whom come from outside France, with a total of 20 nationalities.

The student service center is very active and runs themed events to gather all the students in a festive atmosphere: integration weekend, Chinese New Year, ski trips, visits to Disneyland Paris, cultural trips to European capitals, vineyard and wine-tasting visits, sightseeing, get-togethers with students from neighboring universities and schools, Diwali (the Indian festival of lights), and more… Near the campus, you can also do plenty of sports including: golf (18-hole course), horse riding, tennis, football, squash, bowling, ice skating, climbing, canyoning, and canoeing.

Nîmes is situated in the south of France, close to Mediterranean beaches and bathed in sunlight all year long. The surrounding area offers plenty of leisure activities such as: sightseeing, surfing, windsurfing, diving, walking, horse-riding, and more.
The Roman amphitheater was built at the end of the first century AD. It hosted gladiator fights for vast audiences… until they moved on to bullfighters, sportsmen and performing artists. It is the top bullfighting venue in France. And by showing their student card, students can get discounts at cinemas, libraries, museums and elsewhere.
In June and September, Nîmes comes vibrantly alive during popular festivals called ferias. In Spanish, a feria is a fair or festival. The Nîmes version celebrates horses, bulls, music, dance and wine. All generations of people gather in the city to share intense, delightful moments.
The Southern Alps attract people eager for high-altitude adventures, whereas the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees have preserved their traditions and offer a wide range of equally tempting activities, such as water sports and modern ski resorts. In winter, the student council runs excursions so everyone can enjoy the benefits of mountain air and snow sports.
Sky and sea merge on the blue horizon, while white horses and black bulls roam free. The Rhone delta is home to more than 350 species of resident and migratory birds that nest and breed here; it is one of Europe’s few migratory bird reserves. This wild and protected region’s fauna and flora are exceptionally rich.
Truffles from Périgord, strawberries and asparagus from Nîmes, wine from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Nyons olives, Roquefort cheese… are among the many delights of the French gastronomy. The school offers wine and cheese tasting visits as part of its academic program.

Périgord truffles, strawberries and asparagus from Nîmes, olives from Nyons, wines from Bordeaux and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Roquefort cheese are among France’s many culinary delights. As part of its academic program, the school runs wine and cheese tasting trips in southern France.
